Simple search
(1) In our example we are looking for metadata on translations of fictional literature from Dutch published between 1945 and 1989.
(2) Go to the search mask on the start page under the 'Search' tab.
(3) There are two search processes that can be carried out separately or together: searching for bibliographic information and searching for full texts (Search in: metadata, full text, or both). Select 'Search in: Metadata' because you only want the bibliographic information, or metadata.
(4) Next, select one or both of the libraries in which you would like to search (Library: all libraries, translation and adaptations, or reception documents). The correct library is 'Translations and Adaptations'.
(5) Select one or more search criteria (by pressing the 'Add criteria' button). Enter the following search criteria: 'Language (source) is equal to Dutch', then press the 'Add criteria' button and enter 'Year is between 1945 and 1989'.
(6) To organise your results in descending order by year of publication, select 'Year' first and tick the 'Desc.' box. The rest of the order follows the other entries; repetitions are not a problem here.
(7) In the bottom right corner, you can set how many results should be displayed per page (Res./Page). We choose 250 and press the “Search” button.
Clicking on the search button brings up the search results.
You can now edit these results further. This includes the following actions:
- viewing detailed results: click on the eye symbol (view reference)
- viewing more information: click on the information button (Get more info) and you get more information on the author(s) and translator(s), amongst others identifiers from VIAF, ISNI and Wikidata as well as alternative spellings
filtering them: enter keywords in the 'Filter results by' field. The entries will be searched after these keywords.
