Provenance statement
The DLBT is a fusion of different data sources and research projects, so it does not have a standardised procedure for collecting and analysing data origin. The DLBT is edited in a decentralized manner. The data from the various projects are maintained by the respective editorial teams.
Furthermore, many datasets were edited or merged from different sources after being included in the DLBT, resulting in substantial deviations from their original form.
This is exemplified by the translations from Dutch, which represent both the starting point and the primary focus of the DLBT to date. The foundation of the DLBT can be traced back to two extensive preliminary studies: A comprehensive overview of the sources used can be found in Herbert Van Uffelen, Bibliographie der modernen niederländischen Literatur in deutscher Übersetzung 1830–1990, Münster and Hamburg: LIT Verlag, 1993 (Netherlands Studies; 7). Conversely, the DLBT is based on individual searches conducted during the “Literature in Context” research project (2000–2015) at the University of Vienna (Austria).
